Nollywood’s Tarella Brings an African Twist to Cinderella This February

Tarella, an African retelling of the Cinderella story, is set to premiere in cinemas on February 7.
The film, which reimagines the classic fairy tale within a mythical West African kingdom, has already been showcased at festivals and is now gearing up for its official release.
Set in the kingdom of Akkaya, Tarella follows the journey of Prince Nosa and an orphaned maiden as they navigate obstacles in their pursuit of love and destiny. The film blends traditional folklore with fantasy elements, offering a fresh perspective on the well-known story.
Directed by Lolo Eremie and Kayode Kasum, Tarella features a cast that includes Timini Egbuson, Okawa Shaznay, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Chioma Idigo, Elvina Ibru, Ummi Baba-Ahmed, Rebecca Nengi Hampson, William Chinoyenem, Preach Bassey, Onyinye Ezekwe, William Benson, Gideon Okeke, and child actor Ellyssa.
Produced under Lodein Entertainment, the film was shot in Abuja, with Adeoluwa Owu serving as the cinematographer and Glory Uduma handling costume design.
Following years of anticipation, Tarella is finally making its way to audiences, bringing an Afro-fantasy take on a timeless tale to the big screen.
