Tyla’s Afro-pop single “PUSH 2 START” continues its reign on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart, marking its 10th consecutive week at No. 1 for the week of March 1, 2025. The track builds on the success of her Grammy-winning hit “Water”, reinforcing her growing dominance in the genre.

In a rare feat, “PUSH 2 START” dethroned “Water” from the top spot, making Tyla one of the few artists to replace their own song at No. 1. “Water” previously held the top position for 55 non-consecutive weeks and has now spent 78 weeks on the chart, currently sitting at No. 2.

Tyla now occupies the top two positions on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart. Other tracks from her debut album “Tyla” and its deluxe version “Tyla +” also hold spots on the chart, with “Shake Ah” at No. 26 and “Back to You” at No. 35.

Beyond Afrobeats, “PUSH 2 START” is making steady progress on the Billboard Hot 100, currently sitting at No. 92 after debuting at No. 88 on January 27, 2025. The song also earned Tyla another record as the first African artist to secure a Billboard Hot 100 entry—whether solo or featured—in 2025.

With over 100 million streams on Spotify, “PUSH 2 START” recently received a remix featuring reggae legend Sean Paul. Tyla’s social media activity suggests a music video for the remix is in the works.

Beyond the Billboard charts, Tyla joined the Spotify Billons Club as “Water” surpassed one billion streams on the music platform. She now holds the record as the first African artist to achieve this feat with a solo song.

As “PUSH 2 START” continues its chart domination fueled by social media consumption, all eyes are on Tyla, anticipating her next move in a career that continues to break barriers and set new standards for African artists in the music industry.
