“Adolescence,” a psychological drama created by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, has now attained fourth place on Netflix’s list of the most-watched English language series of all time.
According to the streaming service’s latest update on Apr. 9, it achieved a staggering 114 million views in only 24 days.
This latest milestone is a dramatic rise from its previous ninth position last week which knocked “Bridgerton” Season 2 off and pushed “Stranger Things” Season 3 down to the tenth position.
Directed by Phillip Barantini, the British limited series is now trailing behind “Wednesday” Season 1 (252.1 million views), “Stranger Things” Season 4 (140.7 million views), and “Dahmer: Monster” (115.6 million).
However, 17.8 million of “Adolescence” 114 million total views came during the May 31-April 6 viewing window. This makes it the No. 1 TV title of the week in its fourth week on Netflix.
As “Adolescence” continues its record-breaking spree, it is speculated to eventually dethrone “Stranger Things” and “Dahmer: Monster” in second and third place respectively.
Netflix measures this list based on 91 days of viewing for each title. Thus, “Adolescence” is speculated to soar even higher, possibly to the top spot.
