South African sensation Tyla is set to host the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCAs) for the first time. She makes history as the first African act to host the annual ceremony.
Dubbed the “Queen of Popiano,” she is also nominated for two awards this year: Favorite Global Music Star, representing Africa, and Favorite Music Collaboration for “Show Me Love” with WizTheMc and bees & honey.
The 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will take place on Jun. 21 and air live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
As in previous years, this year’s nominees span music, film, sports, social media, gaming, podcasts, and television. Fans can now cast their vote on the KCA website, choosing from 35 highly-competitive categories.

Grammy winners Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, and Ariana Grande lead this year’s nominations with four nods each. Selena Gomez, Jelly Roll, Jack Black, and Dwayne Johnson follow closely with three nominations each.
The award show will be broadcast globally on Nickelodeon and simultaneously aired on Nick Jr, TeenNick, Nicktoons, MTV2, and CMT.
As one of the few award shows dedicated to children, fans can expect fun activities, high-energy stunts, and the iconic sliming that has made the event famous.
The announcement of Tyla as host of the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards comes on the heels of her recent inclusion on the “Smurfs” soundtrack, where she features alongside Rihanna, DJ Khaled, and Cardi B.
Presenters, guest appearances, and musical performances will be announced at a later date.
