“Imported Wives” Details the Harsh Realities of Love and Migration

In keeping up with the “japa” wave that is ravishing Nigeria, “Imported Wives” offers an intimate glimpse into what really happens to Nigerian marriages abroad.

 

The film is set to premiere in the cinemas nationwide on May 30, 2025.

 

“Imported Wives” tells the story of a Nigerian man who brings his Nigerian wife to Canada with hopes of building a home filled with love and peace. However, those dreams are quickly challenged as the couple confronts cultural clashes and the harsh truths of immigrant life. Whether their marriage can withstand these trials is the central question the film explores.

The film stars an ensemble cast of Nollywood’s finest, including Pascal Atuma, Nancy Isime, Omoni Oboli, Patience Ozokwo, Joseph Benjamin, Sarah Lynn Millington, Linda Osifo, Ngozi Nwosu, Lucy Francesca Ameh, Funky Mallam, Emmanuel Igboke, Vivian Williams, and MC Bonderai.

 

Produced by Pascal Atuma and Oscar Atuma, and directed by Pascal Atuma, “Imported Wives” promises to explore themes of cultural divides, marital expectations, and the emotional challenges of the immigration experience.

 

The film’s screenplay is penned by Joy Isi Bewaji, the brilliant mind behind acclaimed titles like “A Weekend to Forget” and “Seven and a Half Dates, ”And also distributed by Nile Entertainment.
