After nearly a decade since the original film’s release, Disney has officially confirmed “Zootopia 2,” the anticipated sequel to the 2016 animated blockbuster.
Slated for release on November 26, 2025, the film will reunite fans with beloved characters Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Nick Bateman), promising a story filled with mystery, humor, and the social themes that made the first movie an instant success.
Though plot details remain tightly under wraps, early reports suggest that the new film will explore uncharted corners of Zootopia and introduce a dynamic cast of new animal characters. Among them is a mischievous snake named Gary De’Snake (Ke Huy Quan), who from the teaser seems to be causing Judy and Nick a lot of trouble (in various continents).

Directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush, with Bush penning down the screenplay, are expected to return, continuing the creative vision that brought the original city of anthropomorphic animals to life.
“Zootopia,” which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, grossed over $1 billion worldwide and earned praise for its nuanced take on prejudice , diversity, friendship and unity.
With fans clamoring for more since the teaser release, “Zootopia 2” is poised to blend timely storytelling with heartwarming humor once again.
