The eighth entry in the long-running action series opened with ₦84 million between May 23 and May 25. When including Thursday previews and the Children’s Day holiday (May 27), its total debut gross climbs to ₦123 million—outperforming both “Ori: The Rebirth” and “Sinners” combined over the same period.
Among 2025 releases, The Final Reckoning ranks as the fourth-highest opener, behind “Captain America: Brave New World” (₦121 million), “Sinners”(₦106 million), and “Reel Love”(₦99 million). The strong numbers reinforce the enduring appeal of Tom Cruise and the Mission: Impossible brand among Nigerian audiences.
Despite losing its coveted crown, “Sinners” still has a reason to smile. With a cumulative gross of ₦710 million, it draws ever closer to “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (₦750 million) to uprooting from its position as the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time in Nigeria.
