20th Century Studios confirms the sequel begins production without Grenier, who played Andy Sachs’ boyfriend in the 2006 original.
American actor Adrian Grenier will not reprise his role as Nate Cooper in “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” the sequel to the 2006 fashion drama.
20th Century Studios confirmed on June 30 that production has begun without Grenier.

In the original film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel, Grenier played Nate, the boyfriend of Andy Sachs, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. His character drew criticism for being unsupportive of Andy’s career.
Confirmed to return for the sequel are Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, with Kenneth Branagh joining the cast. David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna also return as director and writer, respectively.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is expected to premiere in cinemas on May 1, 2026.
