Nigerian filmmaker Damilola Orimogunje has completed principal photography on his second feature film, “Dear Ajayi,” following the success of his debut, “For Maria Ebun Pataki.”
Shot on location in Ibadan, the 1990s period drama features an ensemble cast that includes Bimbo Akintola, William Benson, Uzoamaka Power, and Tosin Adeyemi. Also appearing in the film are veteran actors such as Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero), Michelle Dede, Antar Laniyan, Tope Tedela, Chioma Omeruah, Baaj Adebule, Kalu Ikeagwu, and Iya Rainbow.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on July 1, Orimogunje expressed excitement about completing the shoot:
“A wrap on the principal photography of ‘Dear Ajayi,’ my second feature, and I’m convinced I’ve just made the most beautiful film of my career so far. Big thanks to my amazing cast and crew, who are the true champions.”

Though specific plot details remain under wraps, “Dear Ajayi” is said to explore the struggles of Nigerian women as they navigate family expectations and burdens. The project, which began development in 2017, has been years in the making.
