The Amazon MGM remake has begun production in London.
Danai Gurira Joins Michael B. Jordan’s “The Thomas Crown Affair”
Danai Gurira has joined the cast of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” a new remake from Amazon MGM Studios directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan.
Production began this week in London, with Lily Gladstone, Kenneth Branagh, and Taylor Russell also confirmed in the ensemble. Russell plays a private detective opposite Jordan’s title character.
The film is a reimagining of the 1968 heist drama directed by Norman Jewison, which starred Steve McQueen as a wealthy art thief and Faye Dunaway as the insurance investigator tracking him. A 1999 remake starring Pierce Brosnan also achieved commercial success.
Scripted by Drew Pearce, the new adaptation is described as a romantic thriller, though further plot details have not been released. Jordan is also producing the film alongside Charles Roven and Elizabeth Raposo.
“The Thomas Crown Affair” is set for exclusive theatrical release on March 5, 2027.
