HBO’s “And Just Like That” is coming to an end. The sequel series to “Sex and the City” will wrap with its third season, concluding with a two-part finale airing August 7 and 14.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King announced the news on Friday via X, writing: “And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the ‘Sex and the City’ universe is coming to an end.”

According to King, the decision to end the series was made collaboratively with lead star Sarah Jessica Parker and HBO executives Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey. The series will close with an extended 12-episode season and a final two-part send-off.

“We held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” King added. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

“And Just Like That” premiered in 2021 as a continuation of “Sex and the City,” which ran from 1998 to 2004 and inspired two feature films. The revival brought back Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, although Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) did not return as a series regular.

Fans will now prepare to say goodbye to Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda and to a franchise that has spanned nearly three decades.
