After the success of “Kesari”, Ibrahim Yekini returns with a Yoruba folklore drama featuring a star-studded Nollywood cast.
Itele d Icon’s “Abánisété: The Ancestor” Opens August 15
Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Yekini, known as Itele d Icon, will release his new film, “Abánisété: The Ancestor”, in cinemas nationwide on August 15.
The project follows his 2023 hit “Kesari: The King”, which grossed ₦77 million at the Nigerian box office.
The film unfolds in a community where tradition and ancestral bonds guide their fight against a looming threat to their land and people.
The cast includes Olarotimi Fakunle, Omowunmi Dada, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, and Broda Shaggi. Yekini also features in the film, which draws heavily from Yoruba mythology.
“Abánisété: The Ancestor” is Yekini’s latest project, built around themes of heritage and resilience.
