Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four: First Steps” and James Gunn’s “Superman” hold the top spots.
International films continue to dominate the Nigerian box office, with “Fantastic Four: First Steps” and “Superman” leading the charts.
“Fantastic Four: First Steps” topped the recently released box office statistics for August 1–9, earning an additional ₦92.6 million to bring its two-week total to ₦269.2 million.
“Superman,” a DC Comics film and 2025’s biggest opening weekend in Nigeria, followed in second place with ₦44.2 million in additional earnings. This pushed its four-week total to ₦416.8 million, the highest grossing title on the list.
Abdulrasheed Bello’s “Hakeem” was the only Nollywood film in the top three, debuting with ₦41.1 million as it approaches the ₦50 million mark. In its fifth week, “Jurassic World Rebirth” made an extra ₦15.5 million, bringing its total to ₦158.5 million.
The latest rankings once again highlight Nigerians’ preference for Hollywood films over local titles.
