“3 Cold Dishes” Earns Double Nominations Ahead World Premiere

The upcoming thriller is competing for Best African Actress and Best Screenplay at the Septimius Awards.

3 Cold Dishes, an upcoming revenge thriller produced by Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy, has secured two competitive nominations at the Septimius Awards.

 

The recently announced nominated categories include Best Actress lead by Osas Ighodaro and Best Screenplay, which tells the story of three women who are victims of sex trafficking.

 

For the Best Actress category, Ighodaro will compete with Sharon Ooja, Nomzamo Mbatha, Nisrin Erradi, Faten Ahmed among others.

On the other hand, the 3 Cold Dishes screenplay will attempt to defeat other African titles including Red Path, Girls Will Be Girls, Old Righteous Blues, Santosh, Die dekonstruksie van Retta Blom, and The Adamant Girl.

 

Ahead of its world premiere scheduled for November 7, these secured Septimus Awards nominations capture the relevance of its sex trafficking plot in African cinema.

3 Cold Dishes, written by Tomi Adeshina, spans across multiple African countries starring an ensemble cast including Femi Jacobs, Wale Ojo, and Amelie Mbaye. It is speculated to be one of the most ambitious Nollywood projects yet.
