Shawn Hatosy Wins First-Ever Emmy Award at 49

For his performance in The Pitt, the actor received Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

American actor and director Shawn Hatosy has won his first Emmy after being named Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series at the opening night of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

 

Hatosy earned the award on September 6 for his role as Dr. Jack Abbot, a combat medic turned attending physician in HBO Max’s The Pitt.

The actor beat Forest Whitaker (Andor), Giancarlo Esposito (The Boys), Jeffrey Wright (The Last of Us), Joe Pantoliano (The Last of Us), and Scott Glenn (The White Lotus) to claim the award.

 

Hatosy’s co-star Katherine LaNasa also received recognition at the event, winning Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

So far, Apple TV+’s The Studio leads the 2025 Emmy winners with nine awards, including Best Casting for a Comedy Series. HBO Max’s The Penguin follows with eight, while Apple’s Severance collected six. Disney+’s Andor, along with Netflix’s Arcane and Love, Death + Robots, picked up four each. Prime Video’s The Boys and Netflix’s Bridgerton won three apiece, while The Pitt and Netflix’s Adolescence each secured two wins.
