“Ruth & Boaz” Reimagines Biblical Romance, Premieres September 26 on Netflix
Netflix has set September 26 for the premiere of Ruth & Boaz, a modern reimagining of the biblical romance produced by Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin.
Directed by Alanna Brown, the film relocates the story of Ruth to the contemporary music industry. It follows Ruth Moably (Serayah McNeill), a rising hip-hop artist who leaves Atlanta after a personal tragedy and moves to Tennessee for a new start. While caring for her late boyfriend’s mother, Naomi (Phylicia Rashad), she meets Boaz (Tyler Lepley), a vineyard owner whose unexpected bond with Ruth develops into a deep connection.

The ensemble cast includes Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Walnette Santiago, Nijah Brenea, James Lee Thomas, Jermaine Dupri, Lecrae Moore, Christopher Broughton, and Yung Joc.
The screenplay is by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan, with an original song by Edmonds performed by Serayah.

A Netflix Originals production in partnership with Tyler Perry Studios, Ruth & Boaz explores themes of loyalty, redemption, and generational ties.
The film begins streaming globally on Netflix on September 26.
