Africa Magic Showcase has announced the premiere of its new original series Mother of the Brides for September 29, 2025.
The drama follows the Silva-Whyte family over a 45-day period as a determined mother seeks to protect her family’s legacy while navigating the lives of her four daughters. Gloria Anozie-Young stars as the matriarch, joined by Yewande Simpson, Blessing Urezo, Linda Ejiofor Suleiman, and Uche Chika Elumelu.
The series was created by a writers’ team that includes Babatunde Lawal, Stanley Balogun, and Musa Jeffery. Direction is credited to Lota Chukwu, Eze Daniels, and Rogba Arimoro, with Bio Labelle Omoniyegha as producer.
Mother of the Brides is positioned as a family drama exploring themes of tradition, loyalty, and the complexities of love and power within a modern African household.
