Sarz Drops “Protect Sarz at All Costs” with Star-Studded Features
Award-winning producer Sarz has unveiled his highly anticipated studio project Protect Sarz at All Costs, released on September 26, featuring a heavyweight lineup of Afrobeats and international acts.
The 12-track album includes collaborations with Wizkid, Asake, Fireboy DML, Joeboy, Shallipopi, Odumodublvck, Lojay, Wurld, and Teni, alongside global names such as Gunna, Skillibeng, Libianca, Byron Messia, Zeina, Theodora, Qing Madi, and the Ndlovu Choir. Previously released singles Happiness and Billions also appear on the project.
But one much-anticipated track did not make the final cut: Move Closer, Sarz’s teased collaboration with Rema. The song had circulated in snippet form as far back as December 2024, building anticipation among fans. Its omission sparked conversation online, especially after another unreleased track from the same period, Up featuring Victony, did appear on the album.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Sarz explained his selection process: “I didn’t just want features for the sake of names. I wanted voices that would elevate the vision. Every artist on Protect Sarz at All Costs brings something deeply personal and distinct to the table. It had to feel right sonically and spiritually.”
Born Osabuohien Osaretin, Sarz has long been regarded as one of Afrobeats’ most influential producers, credited with shaping the genre’s global sound through hits like Niniola’s Maradona, Mr Eazi’s Accra to Lagos, and Trobul with Wurld. His international work includes Beyoncé’s Find Your Way Back and Drake’s One Dance.
With Protect Sarz at All Costs, Sarz signals a new era of artistic independence, combining Afrobeats with global sounds while maintaining his signature production style. Fans are now left balancing excitement for the album’s expansive roster with curiosity about when—or if—his collaboration with Rema will finally surface.
