The political drama explores corruption and power struggles in Nigeria’s political system, featuring an ensemble cast led by Deyemi Okanlawon and Bimbo Akintola.
Nigerian filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi has announced the release of his new political drama, The Exco, which opens in cinemas nationwide on October 17, 2025.
The film, directed by Official Director Mo, is distributed by Cinemax NG and will later be available on digital platforms.
The Exco follows a young idealist who steps into the murky world of politics and soon faces betrayal, corruption, and pressure to compromise his values. The story unfolds against the backdrop of Nigeria’s volatile political climate, blending themes of ambition, loyalty, and moral conflict.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Deyemi Okanlawon, Bimbo Akintola, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Prince Jide Kosoko, Femi Branch, Scarlet Gomez, Lizzy Jay, and Olarotimi Fakunle.
Oloketuyi, who also produced the film, described The Exco as a reflection on “the realities of governance and the ethical compromises that shape leadership.” With its focus on institutional power play, the film continues his interest in socially relevant storytelling.
Distributed by Cinemax NG, The Exco marks Oloketuyi’s latest collaboration with Official Director Mo.
