Tarantino is cast in Jamie Adams’ Only What We Carry, marking his most significant on-screen role since his 1996 appearance in From Dusk Till Dawn.
American filmmaker and actor Quentin Tarantino is officially returning to acting nearly three decades after his last major performance. The two-time Oscar-winning director has been cast in Jamie Adams’ upcoming feature Only What We Carry.
While Tarantino has made several cameo appearances in his own films, including his 1992 debut Reservoir Dogs, his last substantial acting role was in Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn (1996).
According to a recent update shared on October 27, Tarantino will star alongside Simon Pegg, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Sofia Boutella, Liam Hellmann, and Lizzy McAlpine.
The film, shot in France, follows Adams’ signature improvisational style and draws inspiration from filmmakers Eric Rohmer and Hong Sang-soo. It explores themes of love, loss, and the quiet resilience required to move forward.
For Tarantino, Only What We Carry marks not just a return to acting but also his most notable on-screen role in nearly 30 years—hinting that he may take on more acting projects as he transitions away from directing.
