Apple Music has named fast-rising Nigerian artiste Fola its Afrobeats Hitmaker of 2025 as part of its annual end-of-year music rollout.
The announcement also places him on the cover of the platform’s flagship playlist, “Afrobeats Hits: Moving to the Sounds of Africa,” which highlights emerging African acts shaping global listening trends.
Fola achieved a rare milestone by securing all top ten positions on the playlist, reflecting the rapid momentum of his career since gaining mainstream recognition in 2024.
His debut album catharsis, released in September 2025, played a significant role in driving his presence on the chart and strengthening his status as one of the genre’s standout new voices.

He also holds the most entries overall on the playlist, with ten tracks selected among the 100 featured songs.
Leading the list at No. 1 is “you,” followed by “Very Soon,” his collaboration with BNXN. At No. 3 is “lost” featuring Kizz Daniel, while “who does that” featuring Bella Shmurda takes the No. 4 spot. DJ Tunez and Wizkid’s “One Condition,” which features Fola, rounds out the top five.
The remaining top ten entries include “Get Better” featuring Zlatan; “eko”; “Titi” with Kizz Daniel; “Dangbana Riddim” with Bella Shmurda; and “Despacito,” his collaboration with Blaqbonez.
Fola becomes the second Nigerian artiste to front an Apple Music Best of 2025 playlist, following Burna Boy, who leads this year’s Africa Now playlist
