A24 has dropped the debut trailer for The Drama, its highly anticipated romantic comedy‑drama starring Emmy-award winner Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, offering the first cinematic glimpse at the film’s chaotic tale of love and unraveling relationships. Rumours of their involvement date back to the summer of 2024.
Directed and written by Kristoffer Borgli, known for the critically-acclaimed film Dream Scenario, the film centres on a couple whose engagement and upcoming wedding begins to unravel under the weight of unexpected revelations just days before the nuptials.
The trailer, released on December 10, 2025, portrays the two leads in a blend of humour and tension, with moments that oscillate between romantic awkwardness and sharp emotional beats that hint at a deeper dissection of modern relationships.
Zendaya plays Emma Harwood, while Pattinson portrays her fiancé Charlie Thompson. The supporting cast includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Zoe Winters, and Hailey Gates, rounding out what appears at first look to be a layered character ensemble navigating intimacy and miscommunication.
Set for theatrical release on April 3, 2026, The Drama marks one of A24’s most-anticipated releases for the spring season and continues the studio’s recent streak of exploring genres with a minimal cast and outstanding talent.
2026 will be a busy year for Zendaya, as she is slated to star in multiple Hollywood productions, including the third season of Euphoria, The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Dune: Messiah.
Pattinson will also appear alongside her in The Odyssey and Dune: Messiah. Additionally, he is expected to reprise his role as the brooding Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II, scheduled for 2027.
