“Behind The Scenes” Nears ₦1.8B And a Historic Box Office Record

Funke Akindele’s yuletide hit Behind The Scenes is closing in on the ₦1.8 billion mark, four weeks into its theatrical run.

 

According to Nigerian Box Office data,  the film earned ₦345 million during its fourth weekend, a drop of just 3.3% from the previous weekend’s ₦357 million. It led the January 2–4 box office, more than doubling the second-place film, Oversabi Aunty, which earned ₦176.5 million.

 

The cumulative total now stands at ₦1.76 billion, putting it only ₦120 million shy of Everybody Loves Jenifa’s ₦1.88 billion record as Nigeria’s highest-grossing film of all time. Analysts expect Behind The Scenes to surpass the benchmark as early as next weekend, citing the film’s unusually strong staying power.

 

Having already claimed the title of highest-grossing Nigerian film of 2025, after overtaking Sinners at ₦775 million during its third weekend, the film continues to dominate theaters and public attention.
