Ahead of its scheduled March 2026 theatrical release in Nigeria and Ghana, filmmaker and writer Laju Iren has unveiled the official poster for Onobiren: A Woman’s Story, starring Ruby Akubueze.
Iren, who serves as writer and executive producer, shared the first-look poster via Laju Iren Films’ Instagram page, offering an early glimpse into a story centred on women navigating social expectations and personal agency.
Onobiren follows Roli, a young woman who moves from Warri to Lagos burdened by tradition, obligation, and choice. Her decision to chart a different course leads to a journey marked by quiet resistance, survival, and self-discovery.

Akubueze leads an ensemble cast that includes Patience Ozokwor, Deyemi Okanlawon, Norbert Young, Bisola Aiyeola, Temitope Tanpe Aje, Desmond Bryce, and media personality Chude Jideonwo.
The film is directed by Famous Odion Iraoya, whose previous work includes Prime Video’s Finding Nina. Onobiren is one of Laju Iren Films’ forthcoming theatrical releases and is backed by partnerships with African No Filter and CcHUB Creative Economy.
