Production has officially begun on Season 2 of Netflix’s Nollywood action thriller The Covenant, produced by VSL Media in collaboration with the streaming platform.
The series creator and producer, Vincent Okonkwo, confirmed the development via Instagram, sharing an image of the clapperboard detailing the episode, slate, and take, signalling the start of principal photography.

Season 2 will be directed by King Shaft, marking a change from the first season, which was directed by the late Dimeji Ajibola. Ajibola, a respected filmmaker, passed away after completing work on the debut season.
At the centre of the story is Dagogo, a former soldier who learns that his brother is alive two years after being presumed dead. His search pulls him into confrontations with criminal gangs and shadowy occult forces.

The series stars Gideon Okeke, Zubby Michael, Uzee Usman, Sola Sobowale, Ejiro Onojaife, Ivie Okujaye, Walter Anga, Bimbo Manuel, Tope Olowoniyan, and Segun Arinze, with themes spanning family, brotherhood, survival, and human trafficking.
The Covenant spent six consecutive weeks on Netflix Nigeria’s Top 10 list during its first season. A release date for Season 2 has not yet been announced.
