Walt Disney Animation’s Zootopia 2 has just crossed the $1.8 billion mark at the global box office, extending its record as the highest-grossing Hollywood animation of all time.

The Zootopia sequel achieved this record on its 11th weekend in theaters, where it grossed a remarkable $12.8 million in 53 overseas territories (a -26% drop),  $638.1 million of which came from China alone, for a $1.39 billion international cume, as reported by Luiz Fernando.

Domestically, Zootopia 2 continued to show remarkable staying power despite the Super Bowl temporarily drawing audiences away from cinemas and the film losing an additional 165 theaters on Friday. The animation grossed $4 million in North America, representing a 32.2% decline from the previous weekend, for a domestic cumulative total of $414.5 million.

This is already past Wonder Woman’s $412.8 million and Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith’s $414.4 million as the 43rd highest-grossing movie domestically.

Still, Zootopia 2 is predicted to see its run to $2 billion maximum, which still puts it behind the $2.2 billion of Chinese animation Ne Zha 2 as the highest-grossing animation of all time.
