Asake leads the list of the most-streamed albums in Nigeria since 2020, according to data published by TurnTable Charts, Nigeria’s foremost music chart publication. His sophomore album Work of Art tops the list with 661.2 million streams, while his debut album Mr Money With The Vibe ranks second with 634 million streams.
His third album, Lungu Boy, ranks sixth on the list with 387 million streams, giving him three entries in the overall top six. The dominance aligns with Spotify Nigeria’s recent data, which named Asake the most-streamed artist of all time since the platform launched in Nigeria in 2021.
Burna Boy also secured three entries on the list. His 2022 album Love, Damini ranks fourth with 436.8 million streams, while his 2023 album I Told Them ranks ninth with 308 million streams. His 2020 Grammy-winning album “Twice As Tall” places nineteenth with 235.3 million streams.
Asake broke into the mainstream with his hit EP Ololade Asake in January 2022, building his sound around energetic rap flows, Fuji-inflected melodies, and a formidable partnership with producer Magicsticks. The combination delivered consecutive hit singles that propelled him to superstardom within the Nigerian music industry.
With three albums in the top ten and the most-streamed album on the list, Asake’s presence in the streaming era remains unmatched among his contemporaries in Nigerian pop music.
