Headless, a Nollywood thriller written and directed by Michael W. Ndiomu, will arrive in Nigerian cinemas on March 13, nearly two years after premiering at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
The film opened the 2024 edition of AFRIFF before securing a wider theatrical release.
Gideon Okeke leads the cast as Erastus Okpanachi, a struggling filmmaker whose life takes an unexpected turn after he is found with a decapitated head in the boot of his car. The discovery places him at the centre of a crime he claims to know nothing about, forcing him to fight to prove his innocence.
The ensemble cast includes Gbubemi Ejeye as Sergeant Onome, Baaj Adebule as Barrister Lanre, Iremide Adeoye as Omotunde Adekoya, Ruby Okezie as Omolara, Uzoamaka Aniunoh as Inspector Jane, Femi Branch as Senator Izu, and Segun Arinze as DSP Agba.
Through a series of investigations and interrogations, the film explores themes of crime, politics, and power, while following Okpanachi’s attempt to clear his name.

Headless is produced under Ndiomu’s Maturion Films, with Ndiomu, Jay Franklyn Jituboh, and Nicole Ofoegbu serving as producers.
FilmOne Entertainment will distribute the film across Nigerian cinemas in partnership with Maturion Films.
The project follows Maturion Films’ earlier production, The Origin: Madam Koi Koi, which was released on Netflix.
Headless will open in cinemas nationwide on March 13.
