A24 will release the paranormal thriller Undertone in cinemas on March 13. The film is written and directed by Ian Tuason and stars Nina Kiri in the lead role.
Kiri, known for her role in Shook (2024) and I Am Mortal (2021), plays Evy, the host of a paranormal podcast called Undertone, where she discusses supernatural and unexplained stories.
The film follows Evy as she moves into her dying mother’s house to serve as her primary caregiver. While there, she begins receiving audio recordings from a young pregnant couple who claim to be experiencing unexplained noises in their home.
As the recordings continue, Evy notices similarities between the couple’s experiences and events in her own life. Each new message deepens the mystery and gradually pulls her into a situation she struggles to understand or escape.

The cast also includes Michele Duquet, Kris Holden-Ried (Believer), Keana Lyn Bastidas, Sarah Beaudin, Seled Calderon, and Adam DiMarco, who recently appeared in the comedy series Overcompensating (2025).
Undertone previously premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in 2025. The project was produced in partnership with Slateverse Pictures and Black Fawn Films, with A24 serving as both producer and distributor.
The thriller is scheduled for theatrical release on March 13.
