Ajosepo 2, the sequel to the 2024 Nollywood comedy, has entered production, marking the return of the franchise.
Directed by Kayode Kasum, the upcoming film is written by Ife Olujuyigbe, alongside Feyifunmi Oginni and Kasum. The sequel is expected to feature an expanded cast and introduce new characters while retaining key members from the original film.
Returning cast members include Mike Afolarin, Timini Egbuson, Tomike Adeoye, and Bolaji Ogunmola. New additions to the ensemble include Toyin Abraham and Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State.
The first Ajosepo, released in April 2024, followed brothers Jide and Dapo on the eve of a wedding disrupted by a family secret involving their father and the bride’s aunt. The story unfolded through a series of comedic misadventures as they attempted to prevent a scandal.
The film was noted for its blend of humour and romance, drawing on Yoruba cultural elements, including a reinterpretation of the “Magun” myth.
While plot details for the sequel remain undisclosed, Ajosepo 2 is expected to build on the original’s premise with a broader storyline and new character dynamics.
Bolaji Ogunmola, who served as executive producer on the first film, also hinted at the sequel in a recent post on X.
