Disney’s Zootopia 2 has concluded its theatrical run at the US box office after 128 days.
According to industry analyst Luiz Fernando, the animated sequel wrapped up on Thursday, earning a final $436 from just over 100 theatres across North America, bringing its domestic total to $428.1 million.
Its ability to earn even that modest sum, despite the dominance of Project Hail Mary and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, highlights its staying power.
Despite falling short of overtaking Toy Story 4 ($434 million), Zootopia 2 ranks as the ninth highest-grossing animated film of all time in North America.
Globally, the film stands as the second highest-grossing animated release ever, behind Ne Zha 2, with a worldwide total of approximately $1.868 billion.
