Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first official logo and costumes for Children of Blood and Bone, confirming a theatrical release date of January 15, 2027.

The announcement marks the studio’s first major reveal for the adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling fantasy novel, signalling the start of its promotional rollout.

The unveiling follows a recent preview event where selected costumes from the film were displayed, offering an early look into the fictional kingdom of Orïsha. In attendance were director Gina Prince-Bythewood, lead actress Thuso Mbedu, and costume designer Charlese Antoinette.

Speaking at the event, Prince-Bythewood highlighted the level of interest in the project, noting that many actors were eager to be involved, even in supporting roles.

The film adapts Adeyemi’s Legacy of Orïsha series, set in a world where magic has been suppressed by a ruling monarchy. Mbedu stars as Zélie, a young divîner determined to restore magic after its violent eradication.

The cast also includes Viola Davis, Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Regina King, Lashana Lynch, and Tosin Cole.

With its roots in West African mythology and themes of oppression and resistance, the adaptation is positioned as a major entry into the global fantasy film space.
