Michael, an upcoming American music biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), will feature Jaafar Jackson portraying Michael Jackson on April 24 in cinemas.
The film explores Michael Jackson’s iconic rise from his formative years in the Jackson 5 to becoming the King of Pop. It also traces the defining moments that influenced the iconic singer’s career and public life.
Written by John Logan, Jaafar, Michael Jackson’s cousin, leads the biopic, marking his film debut. He is joined by Nia Long, Colman Domingo, Laura Harrier and Miles Teller including Kendrick Sampson, Rhyan Hill, and Jessica Sula.

Don Beebe behind The Little Mermaid (2023) and Gemini Man (2019) handles the camera for Michael (2026) with Graham King, John Branca and John McClain sharing production credits.
Michael will premiere globally through Universal Pictures on April 24.
