South African singer Tyla has announced July 24 as the release date for her sophomore album, A-Pop, marking her next major project following her debut.
The album will be released via Epic Records and is expected to build on the momentum of her earlier work. The announcement comes months after she secured her second Grammy win in February.
Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone. Tyla said the new project reflects a clearer artistic direction compared to her debut.“The first album was very hectic. It happened quickly,” she said. “Now I feel more settled and more certain about what I want to say and the direction I want to take.”
Work on A-Pop began after the release of her 2025 EP WWP. Tyla said she approached the album without a fixed sonic plan, allowing the process to shape the final sound.“I knew that as I lived through the making of the album, it would come together,” she said, adding that the result feels fresh and aligned with her identity as an artist.
While a full tracklist has not been released, the album will include the amapiano single “Chanel” and She Did It Again, a dancehall collaboration with Zara Larsson.
A teaser released alongside the announcement describes the album with themes including “African,” “Unapologetic,” “Fun,” and “Confident,” signalling its overall direction.
Tyla released her self-titled debut album in 2024 and has since collaborated with artistes including Wizkid, Moliy, Gunna, and Sean Paul.
