Gingerrr, the heist thriller directed by Yemi Morafa, has climbed to the number one spot on Netflix Nigeria’s Top 10 movies chart.
The film currently leads the platform’s ranking ahead of My Dearest Assassin and Mortal Kombat. Other titles on the chart include Swapped, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Apex, Jennifer’s Body, Behind The Scenes, The Witches and The Hunt.
In a joint Instagram post, the film’s producers; Bolaji Ogunmola, Bisola Aiyeola, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori and Wunmi Toriola shared news of the milestone.
The streaming achievement follows mixed reactions online since the film’s Netflix debut, with some viewers criticising its plot structure and questioning its Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards nominations.
Before arriving on Netflix, Gingerrr recorded strong box office results, becoming one of Nollywood’s highest-grossing titles.
The thriller follows four women drawn into a high-stakes heist that quickly spirals out of control.
