To Adaego With Love, a historical romance drama directed by Nwamaka Chikezie is set to premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, set to run from September 4 to September 12, 2026.
The post-Civil War rom-com starring Adam Garba and Chisom Gabriella Agoawuike, is expected to screen at the festival alongside other Nollywood selected titles including Paths Unseen, Alpha, Okeoghene, and Convictions.
Brendan Ogbukaa-Garuba, the film’s writer and producer, recently announced the TINFF selection of the Nollywood rom-com, highlighting the sacrifices and challenges involved in making the film.

Set in 1975, To Adaego With Love narrates the journey of a soldier and a schoolteacher from different cultures. They both fall in love in a country still healing from the civil war. As their love grows, they must confront tribal rivalries and social divisions to test the strength of their love.
The award-winning film explores love, loss, identity, Nigerian history and reconciliation with supporting performances from Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Onyeka Onwenu, Chioma Chukwuka and Riyo David amongst others.
