Kaduna International Film Festival Unveils 9th Edition Selections

The organisers of the Kaduna International Film Festival have announced the official selections and nominations for its 9th edition, highlighting a diverse slate of African and international entries.

 

This year’s lineup reflects the festival’s expanding global reach, with selected projects coming from countries including Uganda, India, Germany, Egypt, Italy, and Austria, alongside Nigerian productions.

 

Across categories such as short films, features, documentaries, and series, the selections include Ashawo by Ogochukwu Umeadi, Look My Way by Slyvester Okumu, Padding by Ali Mustapha, Dear Daddy by Robert Jumba, But There Was God by Natukunda Blace, and Faded Lines by Daniel Elisha.

The nominations span key areas of filmmaking, including directing, feature film, production design, acting, cinematography, editing, and animation. Actors such as Uzee Usman Adeyemi, Chimezie Imo, Pius Onen, and Lwegaba Alex are among those competing in the acting categories.

 

The festival is expected to bring together filmmakers, producers, distributors, students, and other industry stakeholders, serving as a platform for showcasing film and encouraging cross-border collaboration.

 

The five-day event is scheduled to hold from August 25 to 29, 2026.
