Burna Boy has earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart with “Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026),” his collaboration with Shakira.
The achievement makes Burna Boy only the second Nigerian artiste to top the chart following Rema, whose “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez spent two weeks at No. 1 in 2023.
According to Billboard, “Dai Dai” climbed from No. 7 to No. 1 in its sixth week on the chart after recording 31.5 million streams outside the United States and 4,000 sales during the June 19–25 tracking period.
The song also becomes the first official FIFA World Cup anthem to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart since the ranking launched in 2020.
Before “Dai Dai,” the only World Cup song to reach the chart’s top 10 was Jung Kook’s “Dreamers (Music From the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022),” which peaked at No. 4.
For Shakira, the milestone marks her second No. 1 on the chart after “TQG” with Karol G debuted at the top spot in March 2023.
Burna Boy and Shakira first performed “Dai Dai” live during the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony on June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City before a reported crowd of more than 80,000 people.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup continues through July 19, with Shakira expected to perform alongside BTS and Madonna during the tournament’s first halftime show at the final in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts track streaming and sales activity across more than 200 territories using data compiled by Luminate. While the Global 200 reflects worldwide activity, the Global Excl. U.S. chart excludes data from the United States.
