Netflix Drops Teaser Trailer for “Blue Eye Samurai” Season 2

The teaser offers the first footage from the upcoming season since production began in August 2025.

Ahead of its January 2027 premiere, Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for the second season of Blue Eye Samurai, the Emmy Award-winning adult animated historical action series.

 

The teaser, shared recently via Netflix’s official X account, offers the first footage from the upcoming season since production began in August 2025. It previews the continuation of Mizu’s quest for vengeance as her journey takes her beyond Japan and towards London.

 

Season 2 arrives more than three years after the first season premiered in November 2023. Netflix has also confirmed a third season, which is scheduled for 2028 and will serve as the series’ final season.

 

Blue Eye Samurai, released on November 3, 2023, continues to cement its place as one of Netflix's top-tier anime series. The series previously took the prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, defeating formidable contenders like The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, X-Men '97, and Scavengers Reign.

Created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, Blue Eye Samurai is set in Edo-period Japan and follows Mizu, a skilled swordswoman who conceals her identity while pursuing revenge against those connected to her past.

 

The upcoming season will continue Mizu’s journey as she pursues her targets beyond Japan, expanding the story’s setting while maintaining the series’ focus on revenge, identity and survival.

 

Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in January 2027.
