Joke Silva and Richard Mofe-Damijo are set to reunite as a couple in A Husband’s Wife, an upcoming stage play that brings two familiar faces of Nigerian film together in a different medium.
Silva recently teased the production with a poster, revealing her collaboration with Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD. The play is written by Tyrone Terrance and directed by Bunmi Adewale.
Produced jointly by RMD Productions Limited and Lufodo Productions Limited, A Husband’s Wife will feature Silva and Mofe-Damijo as a married couple.
The production also marks another collaboration between the actors, whose careers have crossed several periods of Nigerian screen entertainment.
Previous Collaborations
Silva and Mofe-Damijo have appeared together in several Nigerian productions, beginning with films from the classic home-video era.
One of their earlier collaborations was Violated, the 1996 film directed by Amaka Igwe. The film explored relationships, marriage and trust through its central story.
The pair also appeared together in Steve Gukas’ 2002 romantic comedy Keeping Faith: Is That Love?, where they played a mother and son.
Mofe-Damijo later worked with Silva and other established Nigerian actors in productions across film and television. Their collaborations have included different relationships and character dynamics rather than consistently placing them opposite each other as romantic partners.
In 2018, they appeared together in EbonyLife Films’ Chief Daddy, which featured an ensemble cast including Funke Akindele, Shaffy Bello, Nkem Owoh and many others.
In a 2025 video, Silva said she was the only woman to have played RMD’s wife, mother and daughter in Nollywood. The comment highlighted the range of roles the two actors have shared across their careers.
From Screen to Stage
A Husband’s Wife moves their collaboration from the screen to live theatre, while also placing them in the roles of a married couple.
The production’s title suggests a story centred on marriage, but details about the plot remain limited ahead of its debut.
