East West Love, an upcoming Nigerian-Kenyan romantic comedy directed by Tanzanian filmmaker Seko Shamte, will open in cinemas on October 9, 2026.
Written by Sonia Nwosu and Folashayo Oke-Sobo, with story by Abiola Sobo, the film follows Bolatito, a meticulous Nigerian event planner whose plans for a romantic holiday in Mombasa, Kenya, are disrupted when she discovers that her boyfriend, Chidi, is cheating on her.
With her non-refundable trip already booked, Bolatito initially considers cancelling before accepting her friend’s suggestion to turn the holiday into a girls’ getaway.

At the hotel, she meets Juma, a Kenyan manager who challenges her ideas about love, trust and control.
Produced by Suss Productions, East West Love stars Brian Abajah and Sunshine Rosman as Juma and Bolatito. The cast also includes Efe Iwara, Elma Mbadiwe, and Emmanuel Mugo.
The film explores second chances, cross-cultural connection, and the difficulties of letting go of expectations in relationships.
East West Love had its world premiere at the 13th edition of the NollywoodWeek Film Festival in Paris in May.
The October cinema release is scheduled to roll out across Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Canada.
