Phoenix Fury, the award-winning film written and directed by Ifeoma Nkiruka Chukwuogo, will arrive in Nigerian cinemas on October 30, 2026, following its local and international festival run.
Chukwuogo’s feature directorial debut stars Onyinye Odokoro, Uzoamaka Power, formerly known as Aniunoh, Tina Mba, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Joseph Momodu, and Ama K. Abebrese.
The film received recognition at the 2024 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), where Chukwuogo won Best Director at the AFRIFF Globe Awards. The film was also recognized as Best Film, according to the supplied information. It was later nominated for Best Writing (Film) at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Phoenix Fury follows Ewura-Ama and Ifeatu, two women whose lives intersect through experiences of loss and injustice. As their circumstances bring them together, they embark on a shared quest for revenge.
The upcoming theatrical release will give Nigerian audiences another opportunity to watch the film following its festival appearances. Nile Entertainment is handling the distribution.
