The third installment of Netflix’s Extraction franchise, starring Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba, has wrapped filming in Thailand ahead of its expected 2027 debut on the streaming platform.
Principal photography began in July 2026, with filming taking place in Sydney, Wollongong, and several European locations before production moved to Thailand.
Hemsworth, who returns as Tyler Rake, recently shared a sign-off post from Thailand, announcing the production wrap. Sam Hargrave also returns as director after helming the first two films.
Written by David Weil, Extraction 3 features a cast that includes Hemsworth and Elba alongside Don Lee, Golshifteh Farahani, Pierce Brosnan, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Parry, and Siena Agudong.

Although Netflix has not issued a separate announcement confirming the production wrap, Hemsworth’s post indicates that filming has concluded. The update comes as anticipation builds for the next chapter of the action franchise.
The film is based on Ciudad, the graphic novel created by Ande Parks, with illustrations by Fernando León González and colours by Eric Skillman. The first two Extraction films helped establish the franchise as one of Netflix’s major action properties. Collider reported that the films accumulated more than 545 million viewing hours and 270 million views during their first 91 days on the platform.
Plot details for the upcoming film remain under wraps.
