Marvel continues to make waves in the entertainment world, and the latest announcement adds more excitement to the mix. The beloved superhero quartet, the “Fantastic Four,” is set for a fresh reboot under the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the star-studded cast has been officially unveiled.
The new lineup includes Pedro Pascal, who will take on the role of Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards); Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman (Sue Storm); Joseph Quinn portraying the Human Torch (Johnny Storm); and Ebon Moss-Bachrach stepping into the shoes of the Thing (Ben Grimm).
Marvel made the official announcement on X, revealing that the “Fantastic Four” film is scheduled for a cinematic release on July 25, 2025. This news comes hot on the heels of Marvel’s recent trailer drop and release date revelation for “Deadpool and Wolverine.” The superhero-themed cinematic year will also include three other Marvel films in 2025 – “Thunderbolts,” “Captain America: Brave New World,” and “Blade.”
While specific details of the film’s plot remain tightly under wraps, it is anticipated that the narrative will revolve around the origin story of the four characters gaining superhuman abilities in space through exposure to cosmic rays. Fans can expect epic battles against the notorious Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s iconic villains.
Pedro Pascal, known for his role as Joel in HBO’s “The Last of Us,” is currently one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors. Vanessa Kirby rose to international fame as Princess Margaret in Netflix’s “The Crown” and earned an Oscar nomination for her role in “Pieces of a Woman” in 2020. Joseph Quinn is recognized for his part in the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things,” while Ebon Moss-Bachrach, an Emmy winner for FX’s “The Bear,” is set to embody the formidable Thing.
Directing the “Fantastic Four” reboot is Matt Shakman, who previously directed, and executive produced the Marvel Studios miniseries “WandaVision.” The screenplay is crafted by a team of writers, including Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer.
As anticipation builds for the revival of this iconic superhero team, Marvel enthusiasts can look forward to a thrilling addition to the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025.
