Izu Ojukwu and Adonis Production have released a new trailer for their historical thriller sequel, “77: The Festac Conspiracy.”
Set two days before and during the Second World African Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC) in 1977, “77” continues the gripping story of a young soldier implicated in the failed 1976 military coup in the 2016 movie “76.”
Now an ex-serviceman, Captain Joseph Dewa, played by Ramsey Nouah, is drawn back into a turbulent political landscape as he joins a movement aimed at challenging the political order of the continent.
The three minute trailer gives a much better insight into what should be expected than the brief teaser released back in August 2023. It showcases a grizzled, grief-stricken Dewa, alongside key characterssuch as Suzie, portrayed by Rita Dominic, and Seun Kuti, who plays his father, the legendary Fela Kuti.
Ojukwu returns as the director, with a script penned by Oliva Eloka, while Peter Kreil handles the cinematography department.
Joining Nouah and Dominic in the cast are Daniel K. Daniel, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Chidi Mokeme, Memry Savanhu, Adonijah Owiriwa, Nelly Ekwereogu, and Shuaibu Ebenehi Adams, adding depth and talent to the project.
While the release date is yet to be confirmed, “77: The Festac Conspiracy” promises to deliver another edge-of-your-seat continuation of the story begun in ”76″.
