Alive Till Dawn, a Nollywood zombie thriller produced by Leo Obienyi in collaboration with Uzor Arukwe, is set to exit cinemas in Nigeria and Ghana after grossing ₦74 million.

Distributor Nile Entertainment confirmed the development on social media, thanking audiences for their support and noting that limited showtimes remain before the film leaves theatres.

Directed by Sulaiman Omotola Ogegbo, the film stars Uzor Arukwe alongside Sunshine Rosman, Chisom Agoawuike, Sani Muazu, and Michael Dappa.

During its run, Alive Till Dawn recorded one of the strongest openings for a Nollywood horror film in 2026 and ranked among the top-performing new releases during its debut weekend.

Leo Obienyi and Uzor Arukwe’s cinema debut Alive Till Dawn follows a Zombie Apocalypse in Nigeria, narrating a relatable plot of survival, horror, fear and loyalty.

Set against a zombie outbreak in a Nigerian context, the story follows a group of characters including a police officer, ex-prisoners, and a stranded woman trapped in a police station as they navigate survival and conflicting loyalties.

Since its release, the film has contributed to the growing presence of genre-driven storytelling within Nollywood, particularly in horror.

Although it did not reach the ₦100 million mark, its performance signals continued audience interest in non-traditional Nollywood genres.
