Love and New Notes has earned ₦57.9 million in its third full week in Nigerian cinemas, for a ₦265 million cume, according to data compiled by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN).
This makes the Kayode Kasum and Timini Egbuson Valentines Day romance-horror the highest-grossing film released in 2026 and the third highest-grosser of the year -.
Love and New Notes is the third collaboration between the director-actor Kasum and Egbuson in as many years: 2025’s Reel Love and 2024’s Ajosepo.
The film follows characters navigating love, ambition and uncertainty amid a period of national transition (Nigeria’s 1984 currency change). Egbuson stars as the lead, flanked by Sophie Alakija, Odunlade Adekola and Eniola Badmus.
Since its debut, the film has removed Behind The Scenes’ long grasp atop the weekly box office charts and is set to cross the ₦300 million mark by Week 4.
