Efe Irele’s debut as a producer earns a box office milestone within six weeks of release.
“My Mother Is A Witch” has officially joined the list of Nollywood titles that have grossed over ₦100 million at the Nigerian box office.
The psychological family drama, released on May 23, 2025, achieved the milestone within a month and two weeks in cinemas nationwide.
The film’s lead actress and producer, Efe Irele, confirmed the box office achievement in a recent update, thanking audiences for their support.
The title now joins the ranks of local box office hits such as “Ori: Rebirth,” “Iyalode,” and “Red Circle,” becoming the 50th Nollywood film to cross the ₦100 million mark.
“My heart is so full! My first cinema dance as a producer and I joined the 100M+ gang?! It can only be God and you, my beautiful people who took out time and money to go support me! This is just the beginning,” she wrote in a statement.
She also described the project as a personal test of her strength and resilience both as a producer and a woman.
