R-rated horror Scream 7 has launched with ₦35 million in its opening week at the Nigerian box office (inclusive of a ₦22.2 million weekend). This is according to data compiled by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN),
This ₦35 million earnings was enough to take second place at the Nigerian box office charts for the February 27 to March 5 week, bowing only to Love and New Notes’ ₦57.9 million.
Globally, Scream 7 opened to $97 million, $64 million of which came from its home market of North America. In its second weekend domestically, it fell a huge 72% to “just” $17.3 million. This was the franchise’s biggest second weekend, but also its steepest second-weekend drop.
