Etim Effiong’s The Herd has climbed to the top of the Nigerian box office with ₦131.6 million in gross earnings, marking two consecutive weekends of increased revenue.

 

Effiong shared the update on Instagram, noting that audience recommendations have played a significant role in the film’s growing success. “We may not have a lot of money for PR to push this film, but you all are really doing the Lord’s work spreading the good news about The Herd,” he wrote.

The film, which earned ₦80 million the previous weekend, extended its dominance to remain the No. 1 title for two weeks in a row.

 

Starring Genoveva Umeh and Kunle Remi, The Herd examines the realities of kidnapping in Nigeria, drawing audiences with its grounded storytelling and emotional weight. It was also one of the major beneficiaries of Nigeria Cinema Day, reinforcing the appeal of socially relevant narratives at the box office.
